Ghosh placed under provisional suspension

 

The Executive Board (EB) of the Table Tennis Federation of India has placed Soumyajit Ghosh under provisional suspension, pending final outcome of the police investigation and court verdict, if any, on the alleged rape charges against him by a teenager.

Stag's big sponsorship offer to TTFI

 

The hosts of domestic table tennis tournaments got major shot in the arm when Stag International announced an annual package of Rs. 85 lakh towards sponsorships, soon after the annual general meeting of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) at Gurugram yesterday.

Odisha to host Senior Nationals after 12 years

 

Odisha will host the 80th Senior National Table Tennis Championships, most probably at Cuttack, after a gap of 12 years. The state had hosted the event in 2001 and in 2006.

Sharath, Sathiyan in Qatar Open PQF

 

Achanta Sharath Kamal and G. Sathiyan made great impact when they defeated Japanese Koki Niwa, the No.5 seed, and Yuya Oshima, the No. 15 seed, respectively, to enter the singles pre-quarterfinals of the 2018 ITTF Wold Tour Platinum Qatar Open at Doha late last evening.

Limited success for Nithyashree and India

 

 It may not have been a great outing for the Indians at the 2018 Oman Junior and Cadet Open at Muscat which concluded yesterday. Yet, some individual performances stood out as Tamil Nadu’s Nithyashree Mani proved, putting up a good fight.

Manav ends up with silver at WJC Finals

 

Manav Thakkar did everything right until the final of the 2018 ITTF World Junior Circuit Finals at Luxembourg. But in the final, the Indian failed to cash in on the close sixth game win as he ended with the Junior Boys silver medal on Sunday evening.

Indian boys' squad enters Stage 2

 

The boys' team, comprising Manav Thakkar, Manush Shah, Snehit Suravajjul and Jeet Chandra, entered Stage 2 of the 2017 World Junior Table Tennis Championships, being held at Riva del Garda (Italy), after registering its successive win in Group D today.
