Dr Prem Chand Verma, Working President of the Table Tennis Federation of India, has been nominated to the Standing Committee of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), according to the communication received from the Indian Olympic Association.

Dr Verma, an IRS, is the Indian member inducted into the Entourage Committee of OCA for a four-year period between 2019 and 2023. This was decided by the OCA General Assembly which met at Bangkok early this month.

Incidentally, Dr Verma is one of the 13 Indians who have been nominated to various Standing Committees of OCA.

In his message to IOA and to Standing Committee members, the OCA president, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al Sabah, has congratulated on their nominations and wished them the best of luck saying, “I look forward to cooperating with your good self in the coming 4 years to strengthen the OCA further.”

Mr N. Batra, president of the IOA, while wishing the members, requested them to be the ambassadors of India/IOA in the OCA.
