Achanta Sharath Kamal and Subhajit Saha won the first ever Gold medal in the Men's double event at the  Commonwealth Games here on Wednesday evening, as the duo defeated the Singapore team in a closely contested final match.

In spite of being down 0-1  after losing the first set closely at 9-11, the Indian duo never lost heart and fought back strongly to draw level winning the second set 12-10.

After a nerve - wracking match the indian team beat the singaporean team of Yang and Gao  9-11, 12-10, 11-8 to bring home the 33rd Gold Medal for the country.
