Day 3: Chinese Claim all Team Titles on Offer

New Delhi, July 22: The Chinese invasion at the Thyagaraj Stadium on Friday was complete. And the rampaging champions just completed the demolition act, winning all the four team championship titles-boys, girls, cadet boys and cadet girls-to stamp their authority in the NCC 17th Asian Table Tennis championships.

Not that anybody had even an iota of doubt about their superiority. But what may have warmed up the hearts of their opponents is the number of games they finally managed to take a few games off the Chinese in the finals.

Japan’s Asuka Sakai, who opened their campaign, must have felt happy after having managed the second game at 14-12 after badly losing the first 11-6. But that was all he could do against Gaoyuan Lin. But Jiani Wu beat Maharu Yoshimura 16-14, 11-7, 11-8 and Hang Yin beat Yuto Muramatsu 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7.
