New Delhi: It is a great honour for India and table tennis that N. Ganeshan is the first technical official to officiate as the chief referee at the Asian Games outside India.

Ganeshan, the technical committee chairman in India and co-chairman in the Umpires and Referees Committee of ATTU, has yet again proved that Indian technical officials are at par with the prescribed standards of the International Table Tennis Federation. His appointment to lead the team of TOs at the prestigious Games is a testament to the growing table tennis power of our country.

Ganeshan has officiated in several international tournaments across the globe. However, he leads a brigade of officials from the continent at the Games for the first time.

“Yes, it is a big honour for me. I  will relish the experience and the responsibility. Buy more than anything else, it’s the biggest recognition to India’s superior and hardworking TOs team,” said Ganeshan.

President Meghna Ahlawat and Secretary General Kamlesh Mehta congratulated Ganeshan for his achievement, saying it is a great honour for him and an apt recognition for the sport.

They wished him well for the opportunity and his success at the Games.
