From the Secretary General's Desk

Dear Friends,

Let me wish you all as we begin our new season with the National Ranking Championships (Central Zone), beginning from June 19, 2017.

This is my first season as Secretary General and my good wishes are with both the state associations and their players that will be participating in the championships.

As assured during the AGM, it will be our endeavour to carry forward the good work done by my predecessor with the cooperation of other office-bearers. Even as we explore new vistas to make national ranking and national championships more meaningful, we would welcome any ideas that can contribute towards that effort.

Now coming to the Central Zone, you must have already gone through the prospectus uploaded on our website and must have familiarized yourself with the guidelines with regard to online entries, the deadlines for receiving entries—one for institutions and the other for states—and the withdrawal date and timing.  Also, from this season, the entry fee, including for extra entries, will have to be remitted to the organizers of the championships—in this case to the Central Zone organizers—through NEFT transfer to the bank account as given in the prospectus.

In other words, neither can anyone send entry through email or any other mode of communication nor can payment be made at the venue. Nor will they be accepted. After the cutoff date/timing, your state will get an invoice for the total amount to be remitted and you are requested to ensure that payment is made through electronic transfer to the bank account of the organizers of the event.

This is a mandate as per government guidelines and TTFI, already one of the few federations to comply with the Sports Ministry guidelines, will not make any allowance, nor allow anyone violate them.

So, it is the state unit’s responsibility to send entries—normal and extra—and see remittances are made as per invoice raised. After the invoice is raised, which will be done after the deadline for withdrawal closes—the state unit will have to make the full payment even if a player or players pullout for whatever reasons.

We will be strict in imposing these guidelines and you also requested to comply with.

We have had bitter experience about nomination of umpires by the state units in the past. We don’t want a repeat from this season.

Once a particular quota is allotted to your state, you must either nominate the umpires before the deadline or decline, citing your inability to do so. This will help us draw people from other states and inform them accordingly for additional hands. A message sent well in advance will help those officials book their journey tickets. Any last minute inclusion does not help anyone.

As per our guidelines, the first-timers of national ranking championships have to get themselves registered with the TTFI along with the original date of birth certificate as per guidelines. However, the others will have to get only the registration done, again as per TTFI guidelines.
We are trying to procure balls with seam for use in the Central Zone. This will be done subject to availability of balls before the beginning of the championships. Failing which, we will use seamless balls, as in the past.

As for open draw, please read the prospectus.

Meanwhile, for the convenience of players/parents we are attaching Oyo Hotel tariff as well as the availability of rooms at Indore. Those who want to book can contact at the given number.

Best Wishes

(M.P. Singh)
