Indian men finish eighth

New Delhi: A visibly tired Indian men ended their team championships campaign at the Asian Championships in Wuxi (China) and finished eighth.

In their positions 7-8 match today, DPR Korea exacted revenge against the Indians for the first division final loss and won 3-0 to finish a slot ahead of India. The Indians, lacking in motivation after the quarterfinal loss to Japan the previous day, were left to play for pride under trying circumstances. But the North Koreans were more determined to make a match of it.

As for the women’s team, the Indians finished ninth beating Malaysia 3-0 in the first division. Earlier, the women could not make it to the Champions Division as their men did. Chinese Taipei won the first division final.
