Hopes Week Follow-up Camp kicks off at Indore

 

 

The 2016 Asian Regional Hopes Week Follow-up Camp that began with a bang at the Ahbay Prashal Indoor Stadim, thanks to the participation nearly two dozen boys and girls sections, along with 15 coaches.  The camp is held under the auspices of the International Table Tennis Federation and the Asian Table Tennis Union.

 

ITTF’s Eva Jeler from Germany heads the coaches’ team and she is assisted by another ITTF coach, Parinya Nonsagate from Thailand and they will be imparting lessons to both the boys and the coaches alike.

 

The participations in the regional follow-up camp are from Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand and Sri Lanka besides hosts India.

 

The Hopes campers, who are trained in all skills of the sport for six days from August 7 to 13 while interacting with players from other countries of the region, will participate in a one-day tournament. The tournament is meant to measure the players’ ability after the week-long camp in match conditions.

 

 

Additionally, the coaches that are attending the camp also gain in knowledge and methods of training besides updating themselves on advanced coaching.

 

Two boys and two girls from region, declared winner and runner-up of the 215 Regional Hopes Programme, are eligible to participate at the Indore camp and they are here on invitation from the ITTF.

 

The Table Tennis Federation of India, the host of the event, has entrusted the job of conducting the camp and the tournament to the Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis Association.

 

The TTFI is providing free hospitality to two boys and two girls from each region apart from a coach per country.
