President condoles Barhat's death

I am really saddened to learn about the demise of Arun Singh Barhat. What was shocking was that after reaching Jalandhar today evening to participate in the 29th Masters National Table Tennis Championships, he suffered a heart attack and passed away. Barhat was a dedicated table tennis player with several medals to his credit. In the last edition at Srinagar, he won the gold in men’s doubles in 75+ section He competed in the World Veterans Championships and won the bronze in 75+ category. A bank man, he retired as General Manager of Dena Bank but was a very active personality, who used to recite Shayari (poetry) and was a well-respected person.

I, on my behalf and on behalf of TTFI and the entire table tennis fraternity, condole his untimely demise and pray to God for his soul to rest in peace. I also offer my condolences and share my grief with the bereaved Barhat family members.
