TTFI signs 16-year pact with HVR Sports Inc.

 

Closely on the heels of signing a long-term agreement with 11Even Sports, the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has inked an all-compassing partnership pact with HVR Sports Inc., here today.

Costantini back at helm as chief coach

 

Hoping for a change of good fortune, the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has re-appointed Italian Massimo Costantini for a two-year period up to September 30, 2018. He takes charge as chief coach of the national team from October 1 but having arrived in New Delhi a couple of days ago, the foreign visited the venue of the ongoing National Ranking (Central Zone) championships to have a close look at the players.

Manav, Ananth and Archana make World Juniors cut

 

Manav Thakkar, Ananth Devarajan and Archana Kamath maintaining impressive track records, with sustained world rankings obtained through participation in global junior circuit events abroad, have made it to the singles events of the World Junior Championships to be held at Cape Town in South Africa in November-December later this year.

Manika shows steady progress

 

Manika Batra has been the lone Indian paddler who has gained much in terms of world ranking points despite her first-round loss in the Rio Olympics along with a marginal improvement for Mouma Das.

Bronze double for Indian pairs

 

If it was the pair of Anthony Amalraj and G.Sathiyan that did well to claim a bronze in the Bulgaria Open at Panagyurishte in the last week of August, it was the women’s doubles duo of Mouma Das and Manika Batra who added a bronze to India’s tally in the Czech Open at Olomouc which concluded just a couple of days ago.

Ghosh is 25th Arjuna!

 

The top-ranked Indian in the world and two-time national champion Soumyajit Ghosh became the 25th player in table tennis when he was conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 29, the National Sports Day.

Diya wins Cadet Girls gold, settles for silver in Junior category

 

Diya Parag Chitale beat Fadwa Garci of Tunisia 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 to claim the Cadet Girls title in the 2016 Tunisia Junior and Cadet Open at Hammamet, which ended last evening.
