Sharath falters yet again in PQF

 

A. Sharath Kamal faltered once again in the pre-quarterfinals of the WTT Star Contenders in Doha when he went down in straight games to world No. 12 Dmitrij Ovtcharov. The German won 11-9, 11-8, 11-6.

Dushyant Chautala retained president, Arun Banerjee new Secretary General

 

Like in the last 28 years, the Table Tennis Federation of India chose its office-bearers, with incumbent Dushyant Chautala retained as its chief. The 32-year-old Chautala, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, is arguably the youngest President of any National Sports Federation (NSF) in the country.

Junior camps and coaches' clinic begin at Indore

 

A 15-day camp for junior paddlers began with 10 boys and 10 girls participating in the prestigious ATTU’s ‘Aim for Asian Stars’ at the Abhay Prashal Stadium here today. Concurrently, a coaches’ clinic also started with 15 coaches participating in it. The latter event concludes on January 24 while the former continues until February 1.

Mouma to receive Padma Shri

 

Veteran Mouma Das became the second table tennis player to be considered for the prestigious Padma Shri by the Government of India on the eve of the country's 72nd Republic Day. Achanta Sharath Kamal was the first paddler to receive the award in 2019.

AS we say goodbye to 2020, it was the year to remember in more ways than one. COVID-19 brought life to a standstill, taking a heavy toll and causing an economic meltdown. The world had to pay a heavy price.

National Championships 2020 Circular and Guidelines to all State Units

 

The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) is planning to conduct the National Championships for the 2020 season separately (Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior, Youth and Senior sections) in SINGLES ONLY, beginning the first week of January 2021.

COVID claims Sultan of Andhra TT

 

S.M. Sultan, senior vice-president of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), passed away today afternoon in a hospital at Vijayawada, where he was getting treated for COVID-19.  He was 61 and is survived by his son and a daughter.

Season's first national camp in TT gets underway

 

Much to the relief of the national federation and players, the National camp for the senior paddlers got underway, with nine out of 11 players in attendance. at the DPS, Sonepat, from today.
