Veterans reap the best haul

 

The Indian veterans amassed as many as 25 medals, including six gold, six silver and 13 bronze, perhaps the most beneficial outing in the ITTF WVC 2023-Oman. Besides, the Indians also won 28 medals in the consolation events.

Sreeja, Manika and Sharath qualify in singles for WTTC Finals

 

Sreeja Akula, who made a name for herself with sterling performances in last year's Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, made several heads turn when she beat World No. 21 Chen Szu-Yu of Chinese Taipei 4-3 (11-2, 5-11, 2-11, 5-11, 13-11, 11-9, 11-8) in the Round of the Asian WTTC Continental Stage 2023 tournament at the Lusail Sports Complex 16 in Doha to qualify for the singles events of the Durban World Table Tennis Championships (WTTC) Finals from May 20.

With the first WTT Event of the year starting soon we would like to draw the attention to two of the rules that will be implemented from 2023: 

TTFI to conduct five domestic events before March

 

The newly-elected executive body of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) set the ball rolling by firming up the domestic calendar of events, dates and venues, announcing as many as five tournaments for the season 2022-23. Over and above, it will also support and help to conduct the Khelo India Youth Games and the Para Nationals.

Meghna and Kamlesh take charge

 

The newly-elected members of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), led by President Meghna Ahlawat, assumed charge today and vowed to work for the betterment of the sport in tandem with Secretary General Kamlesh Mehta and Treasurer P. Nagender Reddy and other members of the executive.
