Three of the four Olympics-bound paddlers-A. Sharath Kamal, Manika Batra, and Sutirtha Mukherjee-will finally get their chance to train together at a 19-day camp before they board their flight to Tokyo. G. Sathiyan, however, will continue training in Chennai under his coach S. Raman.

The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) president Dushyant Chautala and Secretary General Arun Kumar Banerjee paid rich tributes to former national champion V. Chandrasekhar, who passed away in a Chennai hospital where he was admitted last week for COVID-19 treatment.

Suhas, another Covid-19 victim

Covid-19 has snatched away another life from the table tennis fraternity. The 68-year-old former India player, Suhas Kulkarni, became a casualty of the disease when he breathed his last at a Thane hospital after failing to respond to the treatment on Sunday. He was 68 and is by his mother, wife, and daughter.
