It was, indeed, shocking news for all of us at the TTFI and the table tennis fraternity to know that our dear friend and an esteemed colleague, Suresh Bhangui, is no more.

Former national champ Manmeet is no more

 

Manmeet Singh Walia, who was suffering from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) for nearly two years, passed away in Montreal, Canada, yesterday.

Some of you must be following the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) advisories on discontinued/suspended activities posted on its site, from time to time. ITTF has suspended all tournaments up to July 31, 2020, because of the situation in the wake of COVID-19 globally.

A. Sharath Kamal, after hovering between early to mid-30s, grabbed the No. 31 spot to be the top Indian paddler in world ranking, according to the latest list released by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
