Archana on a roll, wins a hat-trick of titles

 

Archana Girish Kamath is on a real grind these days. Trying to up the ante on the domestic circuit—she began the season with a title in the Youth Girls section—the girl from Karnataka has just completed a hat-trick of crowns in the ITTF Junior Circuit 2016 Morocco Open.  The Junior Open championships were held between July 7 and 10 at Agadir.

National Referee's Course 2016 Results

 

You must be aware that we had just conducted an all-India Referees’ Course at Ajmer. I must admit that the course had a very good response from all concerned with as many as 27 candidates enrolling—one withdrew due to indisposition—in the five-day processes which included lessons taught with practical classes, apart from coaching-cum-study-cum-examination. The entire grind was welcomed by one and I am sure all those that attended the course must have returned home enlightened.

An Olympic medal may still be a long shot for an Indian table tennis player, but all the the four Rio Games qualifiers—Soumyajit Ghosh, Achanta Sharath Kamal, Mouma Das and Manika Batra—have shown considerable improvement in their world rankings.

From out of nowhere, both Ananth Devarajan and Manav Thakkar have hit the world chart to do India proud as they occupy slots at No. 24 and No. 54, respectively. Incidentally, this is the first time that the two Indian boys have entered world ranking bracket.

Payas wins silver in Bangkok

 

Payas Jain did India proud as he finished a silver medal in the Hopes Boys singles final in the SET 2016 Thailand Junior and Cadet ITTF Golden Series which concluded in Bangkok today.
