Sanil and Sutirtha emerge champions


Dehradun, December 14: Sanil Shetty, exactly after two years, realised his dream of winning another title when he swamped top-seed Manav Thakkar in the men’s singles final of the UTT National Ranking Championships at the Multipurpose Hall here today.

 

The 4-0 win crown came after his Institutional Championships title in December 2019 at Ajmer. But the win also put him in a numero uno position, especially after the way he approached his game in the final.

Vishwa, Swastika lift U-19 titles


Dehradun, December 13: Vishwa Deenadayalan of Tamil Nadu and Swastika Ghosh of Maharashtra lifted the Youth Under-19 Boys and Girls trophies in the UTT National Ranking Championships at the Multipurpose Hall here today.

Dehradun, December 11: Suhana Saini of Haryana claimed the Under-17 Girls singles crown after beating her India teammate Pritha Vartikar from Maharashtra 4-1 in the UTT National Ranking Championships at the Multipurpose Hall here today.

 

In the Boys final, Ankur Bhattacharjee from West Bengal defeated K.J. Aakash from Karnataka 4-1. The final failed to rise any din as the West Bengal paddler had a firm control against his rival.
