Anirban, Sagarika wear sub-junior crowns


New Delhi, December 1: Anir Ban Ghosh and Sagarika Mukherjee, both of West Bengal, emerged the champions in the sub-junior sections of the National Ranking (North Zone) Table Tennis Championships at the Thyagraj Stadium here today.

Sathiyan weathers Desai strom, wins title


New Delhi, November 30: After all, G. Sathiyan of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) had a good day in office when he emerged champion in the Youth Boys category of the National Ranking (North Zone) Table Tennis championships underway at the Thyagraj Stadium here today. He defeated team mate Harmeet Desai 4-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-5 in the best of seven games final.

Sanil makes NZ title his own yet again, Madhurika new women's champ


New Delhi, November 29: Left proved right at the National Ranking (North Zone) Table Tennis Championships yet again. And Petroleum’s Sanil Shetty defeated team mate Harmeet Desai 4-1 (11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9, 12-10) to win the men’s singles title at the Thyagraj Stadium here today. The victory for Sanil was worth Rs. 66,000 in prize money and 90 valuable ranking points.

New Delhi, November 28:  Some of the top seeds in the men section, including Nos. 5, 6 and 7 Anirban Ghosh, Sourav Chakraborty and Subhajit Saha fell by the wayside in the ongoing National Ranking (North Zone) Table Tennis Championships at the Thyagraj Stadium here today.
