Vadodara, December 11: The boys from Jamnabai Narsee School (Maharashtra), Maharaja Agrasen Public School (Rajasthjan), Navrachna School (Gujarat) and Delhi Public School (Sonepat) have been given first-round byes in the second stage of the Junior Boys section, while eight others will play the pre-quarterfinals before they can think of advancing to the quarterfinals in the second edition of the 11Even Sports Inter-School National Championships, being played at the Sama Indoor Complex here today.

In Junior Girls, too, Jermel’s Academy (North Bengal), Scholars Rosary Senior Secondary School (Haryana) alogn with Nalanda Public School (Maharshtra) and Kalyani Public School (West Bengal) have received the benefit of pre-quarterfinal byes even as the other eight teams will have to battle it out an extra round in the knockout phase of the championships.

Again, Jamnabai from Maharashtra, Loyala High School from Goa, Bhatnagar International School from Delhi and Techno India from North Bengal were the preferred teams to get pre-quarterfinal byes in Senior Boys while, Gujarat’s Udgam School, Siliguri Girls HS from North Bengal, Naihhti Adarsha Vidyalaya from West Bengal and Learning Paths from Punjab will rest until the quarterfinals in Senior Girls.

After all the teams had done with their third round matches this morning, 12 qualifiers from six groups in each category had entered the main draw but only those teams with better ranking and reputation, based on their previous outing last year, have been accorded the largesse.
