Nishaad fells second seed Sanil

Visakhapatnam, October 21: Second-seeded Sanil Shetty was taken to the cleaners by qualifier Nishaad Shah of Air India in the second round of the 11Even Sports National Ranking (South Zone) Table Tennis Championships here today.

In a match that went the full distance, Nishaad made a fantastic comeback twice over—he was down 0-2 and then 2-3—to win 4-3 and thus earn a pre-quarterfinal meeting with A. Sharath Kamal tomorrow morning. Sharath had a straight games win over Abhishek Yadav.

But for this lone upset, all other seeds went through to the next round without any hang-up. However, there was another match that went down to the wire when Sarthak Gandhi overcame Ronit Bhanja of West Bengal 4-3.
