Indore, September 29: PPB’s Subhajit Saha beat team mate Jubin Kumar 4-2 to enter the men’s singles final where he will take on Harmeet Desai, also of PSPB, in the 11Even Sports National Ranking (Central Zone) Table Tennis Championships at the Abhay Prashal here later today. Harmeet defeated Delhi’s Utkarsh Gupta 4-2. Earlier, Saha had beaten top-seed Sanil Shetty 4-2 in the quarterfinals.

In women’s singles, Manika Batra defeated Divya Deshpande 4-1 while Madhurika Patkar downed Reeth Rishya 4-2 in the semifinals.

In Youth Boys, the final will be between PSPB’s Manav Thakkar and West Bengal’s Ronit Bhanja while in Youth Girls Archana Kamath of AAI will take on Rajasthan’s Priyanka Pareek.

Manav beat Arjun Ghosh of West Bengal 4-2 despite the latter leading 2-1 at one stage. Manav had to bring himself back in the match to take three straight games. Ronit, too, had a tough opponent in Jeet but the former overcame him winning the match 4-2.

If Divya Deshpande, despite taking a game off her rival, was completely outplayed by Manika, Madhurika struggled against Reeth before overcoming her. Reeth, on the other hand, was patchy and it only helped Madhurika’s cause.

In Youth Girls Archana, who was 0-3 down and out in the quarterfinals against Tamil Nadu’s Harshavardini, staged a remarkable recovery to beat her 4-3 and then easily beat Sgarika Mukherjee of Railways easily in the semifinal with a  4-1 score. Archana will meet in the final Priyanka who beat AAI’s Sreeja 4-2.
