Itanagar, May 13: All the team members from neighbouring Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, besides hosts India, touched down at Itanagar, the venue for the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships, beginning tomorrow.
The South Asian Federation (SAF) members have also arrived to witness the championships and attend the meeting scheduled for May 16.
All the team members got a warm welcome, uniquely traditional to Arunachal Pradesh, at the airport and the five-star hotels where the teams are staying.
The tournament, getting underway tomorrow, will be significant to the top two finishers in the Under-19 Boys and Girls sections, as the qualifying teams will be eligible to participate in the Asian Youth Championships in Doha (Qatar) in July.
There will also be team and individual events in the Under-15 categories.
